Welcome to BonBon's Toy Closet!

BonBon's Toy Closet in real life contains toys, games, and books for my grandchildren. But several other closets have been taken over for my dolls, doll clothes, doll furniture, doll houses, doll accessories, doll sewing materials, doll trunks, and various doll supplies!

After about 15 years of playing dolls, I decided to share some of the results on this blog. I hope you enjoy looking around. You will find Cissy dolls, vintage hard plastic dolls, Tonner Ann Estelle and Sophie dolls, doll houses, and a variety of other topics.

"Morning Ritual Yardley" Cissy Doll

"Morning Ritual Yardley" Cissy was my first Cissy doll.  I like her straightforward expression with minimal makeup and her upswept hairdo.  Madame Alexander issued this 20" doll in 2001.

She arrived in pink bra and panties, a white terry cloth robe with "MA" embroidered in gold on one side, white feathery high-heel slippers, and pink thigh-high hose.  There was a bar of Yardley soap in the box with her, so upon opening the box, there was a lovely aroma.

At her dressing table, you have a good view of her pretty hairstyle. and the monogrammed robe

In addition to her original "morning ritual" robe and underwear, this Cissy has a pretty suit from the Madame Alexander European Travel Trunk.  It is made of pink boucle lined in taffeta.  There is a blue bustier to wear with the suit.

There is a pretty brooch that came with the suit.  She is wearing Madame Alexander shoes, but I can't remember if they came with the European Trunk set or something else.

BonBon designed and made this gown and it looks especially nice on this Cissy. The blue lace gown is lined in white satin.  It has a full circle skirt.  The unlined sleeves are poufy.  The neckline, cuffs, and hem are edged in a tiny floral lace.  I also made the hat, purse, and gloves to match the dress.

The dress  features a fancy sash, with a flower and streamers in front, and in back a big double white satin bow and streamers of blue checked ribbon and white ribbon, with little flowers tied to the ends.

Morning Ritual Cissy wears this dress to a summer garden party and dance, escorted by a handsome Marine.

This cute blue beach ensemble was made by a talented seamstress, and was a gift from our daughter Jennifer.  The skirt is detachable.  The purse holds her cell phone, romance novel, sunscreen, etc., and the hat is great for keeping the sun off her fair complexion.

This multi-color cotton halter dress with a self-fabric belt has a coordinating pink bolero and hat, and a white petticoat. All were designed and made by Jane Perilloux.  Such a cute fabric in pastel colors!

This pinkand silver outfit was made by me, based on a doll pattern, but altered to my own design.  The dress has a pink satin top with off-the-shoulder design, on a pink and silver brocade gored skirt in a tea length.  The opera coat is made from the reversed brocade, with pink satin lining.  It features a large collar.  I also made a silver purse, but it is not shown.

This cotton knit nightgown is "store-bought" but blends nicely with her terry cloth robe.

This dress, made by BonBon, looks rather like a "nineteenth-century saloon gal" in style, with its front bustle, big bow in the back, and black lace skirt and trim.  She wears a tiny cameo on a black ribbon to complete the effect.

Morning Ritual Yardley Cissy enjoys her afternoon tea and cake.
